Aisha
Aisha’s journey has been shaped by loss, resilience, and a longing for safety. Her father passed away when she was just four years old, leaving her and her sister in the care of their grandmother. Since then, Aisha’s mother has disappeared from her life—visiting only once in all those years.
In August 2022, Aisha’s aunt arranged for her to work as a babysitter in Kampala, promising it would help raise money for school. But instead of supporting Aisha’s education, her aunt kept the earnings for herself. Aisha was denied the chance to study and was forced to work without support or protection.
Eventually, Aisha ran away and became lost in the city. A kind woman found her and brought her to Mukono Police Station, where her case was formally recorded. She was then referred to Good Future and Hope for care and protection.
Our team managed to trace her grandmother. Although willing to take her in, the living conditions there were not safe or suitable for Aisha’s wellbeing or education.
To offer her a new beginning, Aisha was enrolled in the Education Support Program at Good Future and Hope Junior School. There, she began to thrive—catching up academically and receiving the emotional care she had long been denied.
Sadly, in January 2025, due to financial constraints and the lack of a sponsor, Aisha was withdrawn from the program. She is currently not in school, and her future hangs in the balance.
Aisha is a bright, determined girl with a gentle spirit and strong desire to learn. With support, she can continue her education and live in a safe, nurturing environment where she feels valued and protected. By sponsoring Aisha, you can help rewrite her story—giving her the second chance every child deserves.
