Denis
Denis is a courageous young boy who came into our care under heartbreaking circumstances. Earlier this year, he was brought to the Mukono Police by a kind stranger who found him wandering alone. His case was officially recorded by police and Good Future and Hope was contacted to provide him with temporary shelter and protection.
When Denis arrived at our Rescue Center, he shared that he had recently moved to Mukono from Nyakatojjo, where he had been living with his aunt. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a safe place turned out to be far from it. One evening, after his aunt left him at home with food and went to a party, Denis ate the meal left behind. Upon her return, she beat him—leading Denis to flee in fear, hoping to find his biological parents back in Nyakatojjo.
Since his arrival, our team has been working tirelessly to trace Denis’ family. Sadly, the details he remembers are fragmented and the locations he mentioned remain unclear. Despite this, Denis has shown remarkable resilience and hope.
Today, Denis is safe at our Rescue Center and will be enrolled at Good Future and Hope Junior School, where he will begin his journey toward healing and education. While the search for his relatives continues, we are actively working to place him in a loving foster family that can offer the care and stability every child deserves.
