Fredensia

Fredensia is an 8-year-old girl born on 29th November 2016. She was abandoned by her biological mother at a young age and raised by her father under difficult circumstances. Her family includes her stepmother and two younger siblings. They live in a single rented room, share one worn-out mattress, and survive on two modest meals a day. Her father works as a casual labourer and struggles to meet the family's basic needs.

On 16th June 2025, after a misunderstanding at home, Fredensia went missing. She was feeling distressed about not being in school. A kind stranger found her and took her to the Mukono Child and Family Protection Unit. On 24th June 2025, she was placed under temporary care at Good Future and Hope Rescue Centre.

A tracing visit was conducted on 4th July 2025, and Fredensia was successfully reunited with her family in Lwanyonyi Village. The community welcomed her warmly, calling her by her nickname “Mumbe” (Princess). Her stepmother expressed gratitude for her return and shared that Fredensia had been longing to go back to school, but the family cannot afford it due to financial constraints.
