Jovan
Jovan is a young boy from Katosi Town Council whose life was turned upside down after a tragic accident involving his mother. She lives with epilepsy and, during a seizure while cooking, fell into the fire. The burns she sustained were severe, leaving her with injuries that required urgent medical care and left her unable to care for her children.
At the time, the family had no income, no support system, and no access to basic needs. With the household in crisis, Jovan and his sibling Tadeo were placed under temporary care, and Jovan was enrolled in the Education Support Program to help him stay in school despite the hardship at home.
In 2025, Jovan’s support was discontinued due to financial constraints and limited resources. He is now out of school, and his education and emotional well-being are at risk. The setback has deeply affected his progress, but not his determination.
Jovan is a bright and hopeful child who dreams of going back to school and building a better future for himself and his family. He has already faced more than most children his age, yet he continues to hold on to hope.
His story is one of quiet strength and resilience. With renewed support, Jovan can return to school, regain stability, and continue the journey he never wanted to leave behind.
