Precious

Precious is a young girl growing up in the shadow of family hardship. Her mother’s chronic mental health challenges and her father’s serious kidney illness have left the family without steady income or support. Precious and her sister Kelsy are caught in a difficult situation where even food, shelter, and safety are daily concerns.

Precious has never had consistent access to formal education. While her sister was briefly enrolled in a support program, financial limitations meant that Precious remained at home. She longs to join other children her age in school—to learn, to play, and to have a routine filled with purpose.

Despite these setbacks, Precious shows a hopeful and warm personality. She often follows her older sister around and tries to mimic her reading and writing. What she needs now is a real chance.
