In January 2020, a young girl was brought to Nagalama Police Station after being found alone and vulnerable. She had been living with her older sister, who forced her into child labour and denied her the chance to simply be a child. When the case was investigated, her sister was arrested for child abuse—but upon release, she abandoned the girl at the very same police station where her case had been registered.
Recognizing how deeply at risk she was, the police contacted a social work team to step in. While tracing efforts began, the child was placed in temporary care and given protection, safety, and time to begin healing.
Through those efforts, her grandfather’s home in Kayunga District was found, and she was resettled with extended family—giving her the first sense of stability she had known in a long time. To support her recovery and future, she was enrolled in the Education Support Program at Good Future and Hope Ministries, where she began to thrive. She made new friends, caught up in school, and slowly rebuilt trust in the world around her.
Unfortunately, in January 2025, due to limited funding and the absence of a dedicated sponsor, she had to be withdrawn from the program. She is currently not attending school, and her future once again hangs in the balance.
This brave girl has survived abandonment, exploitation, and emotional hardship—but she still dreams of going back to school, of feeling safe, and of building a better life. With the help of a sponsor, she can continue that journey and hold on to the hope she has never let go of.
By sponsoring her, you can help turn survival into success—and give her the second chance every child deserves.
